Chronixx Calls For Buju Banton Concert Promoted By Government

If Chronixx has his way then the government would promote a massive concert for Buju Banton when he is released next year.

The young reggae act made a surprised performance at Dubwise in St. Andrew last weekend where he calls for the Jamaican government to support reggae music, as well as, to host a massive concert for Buju Banton. “It is the number one export in this country,” Chronixx said about reggae/dancehall music.

“It’s the only thing that we export all year round. The city of London invite me the city of Kingston neva invite me to do a show yet, enuh,” the singer added. “They don’t think it’s worth it to say we are going to put in our budget $20 million for Buju Banton and Sizzla to perform.”

Buju Banton is a legend in reggae and dancehall music after starting out his career doing hardcore dancehall and later transitioned into Jamaica’s more conscious musical art form. The Grammy-winning reggae singer is currently serving a 10 year prison sentence for drug trafficking and will be released from prison at the end of next year. Buju was convicted in 2011 for three counts of drug trafficking and filed numerous appeals which he lost.

Do you think that the Jamaican government should fund a Buju Banton benefit concert when he is released?

Vybz Kartel and Cardi B Collaboration Coming Soon Says Rvssian

Vybz Kartel and Cardi B dropping a new collaboration, producer Rvssian confirmed.

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper was in Jamaica last week to shoot a music video for the famed producer but seems that was not all she did in reggae land. Over the weekend, Cardi B wrote on Instagram that Vybz Kartel is her favorite artist of all time. “I can cry @vybzkartel is my favorite artist of all time Me and my friends teenagehood was all about dancing to @vybzkartel #FreeVybz,” she wrote. Rvssian and Vybz Kartel are again working on new music. Last week the longtime collaborators released the new hit single “Kremlin” featured on the producer’s new project, Moscow Riddim. The incarcerated deejay has cranked up the dial in the past two months by releasing a flurry of new singles including “Mhm Hm,” “Don’t Come Back,” and “Kremlin.”

Beenie Man Says Spice Is Not The New Queen Of Dancehall

Beenie Man says Spice is not the new queen of dancehall music at least not yet.

Earlier this tear, Spice crowned herself the new reigning queen of Jamaica’s dominant music genre, dancehall, a title previously held by Lady Saw who is now a gospel artist and a pastor. In 2015, Lady Saw relinquished her crown to become a Christian and she never looked back. She struggled with the transition for years before finally making her break-through. Since then no one stepped up to set on the throne at least not until this year when Spice stepped up to the plate.

There is no doubt that Spice has been a force in dancehall for the past few years, but is it enough to wear the crown for the queen of the dancehall? Beenie Man answered that question during an interview with Winford Williams on OnStage last weekend. “Well the queen of dancehall baptized now… Marion Hall [Lady Saw], the queen of dancehall baptized,” Beenie Man said. “So I am here to see the next queen to come.” When asked about Spice crowning herself, Beenie said, “Well she is the one that stepped up to the plate but that’s not how you become the queen.”

“Because if you’re going to take Lady Saw crown then you have to do what Lady Saw did like no disrespect, you can’t do less work and [want to be the queen],” Beenie added. The dancehall king lamented that Spice will have to elevate her career to the same heights as Lady Saw in order to gain the respect of the fans. “Becomes that artist that you know… she is Spice in Jamaica, she is Spice everywhere Jamaicans is, she is Spice everywhere Caribbean people is, she needs to be Spice where American and British people meet,” the Doc continues. “I am not talking about watching Instagram and talking about song, reaching the people ears the right way, being that artist that we can sit down in Jamaica and look on you on MTV and look on you on VH1 and say alright she has done it and she has reached that point. Because Lady Saw did it and she reached that point.”

Beenie Man added that Spice is more like the queen-elect, but still has more work to do to elevate her career to the next level.

Watch Vybz Kartel “Mhm Hm” Video

Vybz Kartel drop three music videos this weekend but perhaps the most anticipated of all of them is “Mhm Hm.”

The single went viral following its released last month and triggered a massive sales boast for oatmeal, peanuts and Suppligen in Jamaica, that’s the power of Vybz Kartel. The cut was directed by Dameon Gayle of Terminal 4 Media. Since round the end of the summer this year, Kartel released more than a dozen new singles, but this is a fan favorite. He also released another video for his single “Don’t Come Back.”

Vybz Kartel received some criticisms over the summer from some dancehall fans for not releasing enough new music. Now that he has responded to fans plea for more new material, they can’t get enough. “Mhm Hm” received close to 3.5 million views on YouTube in the first month of being released, clocking roughly 1 million views per week.

Yanique Curvy Diva responds To Christian Backlash

Yanique ‘Curvy Diva’ Barrett is defending herself amidst growing backlash from the Christian community.

The dancehall deejay/TV host has been getting some hear from Christians who are calling on her to change her lifestyle. Barrett says that this is not the first time that the Christian community is turning its attention towards her. In her defense, she is simply asking for a word of prayer rather than more judgments. “I had on clothes so for them to go so hard and tell me I need to find Jesus is too much,” she said. “Is weh dem know bout me and God.”

The Curvy Diva added that the not because she is a sex symbol means that she is lacking morals doesn’t have a relationship with god. She said regardless of the criticism, she will maintain her faith in god. “Sometimes, they just need to give me a break,” she added. “They are too hard, and sometimes things nuh called for. I have a relationship with God. I grew up Adventist, so regardless of being a dancehall artiste, I’ll always have that connection with God. I go to Church, but it’s not even about going to Church, it’s more about having a relationship with God. I pray before I go on a dancehall stage, and knowing that I have a relationship where I can call on God is more important to me than saying I’m a Christian or not.”

Yanique ‘Curvy Diva’ Barrett is currently getting ready to release the music video for her debut single “Lifestyle.” The video was shot in Jamaica last month and will premiere on Dancehallhiphop.com sometime soon.

Alkaline Accused Of Stealing Popcaan Style In New Song

Alkaline is being accused of stealing Popcaan‘s flow for his new song “Hard Tackle.”

Dancehall HipHop reported this week that Alkaline new song “Hard Tackle” is the top trending dancehall song on YouTube. The anti-haters anthem was released on Saturday and already it’s stirring up some controversies with Popcaan fans going on the attack claiming that the Vendetta boss bites his style from his 2016 hustle anthem “Nah Idle.”

Poppy injected a catchy line in the chorus “You cyaa just a idle, a idle, a idle, a idle / Granny tell mi say yo mouth need waan bible.” Fans are comparing that line to Alkaline’s chorus “That’s why me say hard tackle, hard tackle, Hard tackle, hard tackle / Life everyday is a hard battle.” Listening to the two songs you will hear a distinct difference, but the Unruly fans are adamant that their artist’s style was used by the Vendetta leader.

Alkaline fans are pushing back saying he would never copy Popcaan or any artists. “Alkaline on a different level from everyone and that is the truth about this music and some Jamaica people they are so fool,” one fan wrote. “Alkaline do everything in is own way to please his self and the vendetta families who show him love in everything that he do in music.”

Some fans are saying that there are more similarities between “Hard Tackle” and an old Mavado song “Gun Battle” than with Popcaan “Nah Idle.” In fact, Popcaan was widely criticized by Vendetta fans last year for stealing Alkaline’s “New Level Unlocked.” Listen to the two songs below and make your own judgment.

I’m tiptoe’n out the bank, hope you don’t speak to me
Hope you don’t speak to me, hope you don’t speak to me
I’m tiptoe’n out the bank, hope you don’t speak to me
I’m tiptoe’n out the bank, hope you don’t speak to me
I’m tiptoe’n out the bank, hope you don’t speak to me

Flowers for the b**ches, bottles for my dawgs
I got coupes in the yard, so I f**k ’em all

Ship my Bentley to Jamaica, “what the bumbaclot?”
My b**ch dressed to the floor, that pu**y Rastafari
Top shotta told me, “(shut it for a batty boy)”
Kidnapping charges, walk up in the with John Gotti’s lawyer
I’m tiptoe’n out the court, hope you don’t speak to me
Just respect a ni**a name or die peacefully
I don’t f**k with sucka’ ni**as, that’s the other side
And they still do B&E, that’s on my brotha side

I’m addicted to this way, I’m accustomed to movie
Cigars in the mornin’, lobsters and the omelette
Your vibe not the vibe if money not the topic
I’m tiptoe’n out the bank, hop in the 650
Got another young ni**a gettin’ rich with me
I’m flossing just to floss, I hustle to the core
I said the biggest boss, I always wanted more
Real estate, you gotta’ see a ni**a gates
(?) in the pen, cell phones on his waist
You know the streets will come all hell up in the ‘fits
I went and got the stick, they said it’s hit or miss
I’m still f**kin’ b**ches out the magazine
Better log-on young ni**as havin’ things
I’m tiptoe’n out the bank, ni**a
I bumped into Carmelo in the Wraith, ni**a

Vybz Kartel’s “Mhm Hm” Hit 3 Million Views In Less Than A Month

Vybz Kartel single “Mhm Hm” is the hottest new single in dancehall currently and has already hit three million views in less than a month.

It’s been three weeks since Vybz Kartel drop the infectious new single and already it’s the most popular song in dancehall both in Jamaica and overseas. The track is currently clocking around a million views on YouTube per week and showing no signs of slowing down. Kartel’s team is currently shooting the visuals for the song which will arrive later this month.

“We are shooting that video now so you can expect it late October,” sources told Dancehallhiphop.com. “The video will be fun just like the single is fun and catchy. Right now ‘Mhm Hm’ is the most requested song in parties and on radios. You can say that this will be the biggest dancehall song of the year. No other have a song that gain so much traction so fast this year.”

Aidonia fans might not agree with that assessment since his single “Yeah Yeah” is also a monster hit this year and gain a lot of traction in dancehall very fast.

Bunny Wailer to be Honored With Order Of Merit

On October 16th, Bunny Wailer is slated to receive the Order of Merit at Kings House in Kingston for his influence in pioneering reggae music.

This is Bunny Wailer’s third National Honor by the Jamaican government, however, this is more significant since it is the third highest honor granted in Jamaica by the state. In an interview with the Observer, Wailer expressed his gratitude. “I did not expect it, but knew it was something that ones spoke to me about being due based of the vastness of my contribution and my focus on preserving the legacy of The Wailers, not only to the music but to the Rastafari culture and community,” he said. “It is growing on me as my greatest recognition. It’s like getting that final PhD.”

Peter Tosh, Bob Marley along with Wailer formed The Wailers in 1963, but it wasn’t until 1972 that the group got their big break and landed a contract with Island Records. Some of The Wailers top songs includes “Natty Dread,” “I shot the Sheriff,” and “Get Up Stand Up.” Bunny Wailer left the group in 1974 and went on to acquire the surname Wailer.

The reggae legen went on to win Grammy awards for his 1996 for the album Time Will Tell: A Tribute to Bob Marley,’ 1995 ‘Crucial! Roots Classics’ and 1997 ‘Hall of Fame: A Tribute to Bob Marley ‘s 50th Anniversary (RAS).’ Some of Bunny Wailer’s most popular singles includes ‘Jammins’, ‘Collyman’, ‘Dancing Shoes’ and ‘Bald Head Jesus’.

As one of the founding member of the Wailer and only Survivor of the group Bunny has contributed a lot to Jamaica music. The group began in a time when political warfare’s was on the rampage and their songs spoke a lot about equal rights and justice which had a huge impact socially in Jamaica back then. Their message of peace and love in their music would help them to become global icons in music.

Vybz Kartel “Mhm Hm” Gave Foska Oats and Suppligen Big Sales Boost

Vybz Kartel currently has a grip on dancehall with his new single “Mhm Hm” and now Foska Oats and Suppligen are getting a big sales boost from the single.

Since dropping the single last month, “Mhm Hm” became an instant hit for Vybz Kartel and a couple lines in the single got corporate Jamaica beaming. “Get the oats, mhm / Get the Supligen, mhm hm / Get the nuts, mhm / Get the nutmeg, mhm hm / Blend it up, mhm / Turn it a your head, mhm hm / Get a gyal and just go get your children,” Karyel deejay over a beat produced by Jones Ave Records.

Dancehall fans have been posting images of their Foska Oats and Suppligen on Instagram in reference to the lyrics of the song. “Right now Foska and Nestle owe Vybz Kartel millions for this big sales boost,” a rep for the incarcerated deejay told Dancehall HipHop. “The only reason why corporate Jamaica is not going for Kartel right now is because he is behind bars. This is the one man who can get your products sell and they know that, but hopefully we can win this appeal and make the boss do road.”

Back in 2009, Vybz Kartel triggered a massive boost in sales for Clarks shoe when he released a song titled “Clarks” with Popcaan and Vanessa Bling. That track went on to become a massive global hit for the deejay and triggered the biggest growth in sales that the British shoe brand has ever seen. Unfortunately, it didn’t earn him any endorsement deal from Clarks, but it was enough to push him to launch his own ventures such as a line of rum and other products like condoms and deodorant.

Trippie Redd – Rack City-Love Scars 2 (feat. Foreverantipop & Chris King)

[Intro: Trippie Redd]
Ooh, ayy
14, 14, 14, babe yeah

[Verse 1: Trippie Redd}
In rack city counting up a four
I was trapping, getting it by my ‘lone
Rocket got them pints for the low

Rack city blowing dope, bitch
She off the molly and the coke, bitch
You wan’ touch then you get poked, bitch
Run my hood like the pope pope, bitch

[Verse 2: FOREVER ANTi PoP]
They thought I was dead but I’m still alive
I just needed time to relax bitch
I just needed time, now I’m back bitch
The money coming faster than it ever did
Please play this at my funeral
If I die tomorrow tell my mama that I’m sorry for the life I chose
But this the life I chose
Mama I’m sorry
This is the life for me
Nobody loves me but me
Nobody loves me but me
I fucked my girl last week
Told her get on her knees
Then she sucked on my D
Then that bitch hit the streets, she ain’t fuckin’ with me

[Interlude: Trippie Redd & FOREVER ANTi PoP]
No more, no more, no more, no more
No more, no more, no more, no more

[Verse 3: Chris King]
I see more tombstones than the undertaker
And if we fuck now we can’t cuddle later
The chopper make roaches scatter, fuck a huddle breaker
This MAC, I aim it at your face, I cannot make up
Brrat, I got the pounds and that ain’t from Jamaica
Smoke, this thing I’m shooting fuck up god’s creation
Ah, you the best, who am I replacing
Woah, oh that’s a vest? well it’s your mind I’m aimed at
Scars of love from warfare with automatics
Bullets burn like lava, chopper spitting volcanic

Stupid bitch fuck me over, I get it, I still miss her woah

[Outro: Trippie Redd]
In rack city counting up a four

President Trump Uses Usain Bolt To Justify Beef With NFL Players Over National Anthem

President Trump is now using the great legend Usain Bolt as a means to justify his beef with NFL players over the national anthem.

In case you have been living off the grid for a while, last weekend Trump ignite another firestorm at a political rally when he bashed NFL players who kneel during the playing of the national anthem, calling them SOBs. There has been widespread backlash over his statement and he has been tweeting about it since last weekend.

His latest tweet is a video of Usain Bolt at The London 2012 Summer Olympics where he was doing an interview after winning a gold medal. Bolt stopped the interview while the national anthem of the United States was being played so he could stand and pay respect. “Even Usain Bolt from Jamaica, one of the greatest runners and athletes of all time, showed RESPECT for our National Anthem!” Trump wrote on Twitter in his latest campaign against the NFL players who take a knee during the national anthem.

Usain Bolt immediately became a trending topic on Twitter and a lot of his fans are saying that he shouldn’t be dragged into this.

Internet: "What does Usain Bolt have to do with protesting against US police brutality?"

Trump: "Uh, he's a black athlete?" ????

Damian Marley Talks JAY-Z Singing Jacob Miller On “BAM” Demo

Damian Marley got a chance to be a part of history when JAY-Z contacted him to be a part of his landmark “4:44” album.

The dancehall legend appeared on the single “BAM” which sampled Sister Nancy classic dancehall banger “Bam Bam” and Jacob Miller’s classic “Tenement Yard.” Speaking with VLAD, Junior Gong said when JAY-Z played him the hook he didn’t even know it was him. “Jay has the hook already he knew what he wanted for it, his voice was the demo,” Marley said. “I didn’t even realize it was him because I was like who is that and he said it’s me and I was like really.”

He did admit that JAY-Z is definitely not a singer but he was impressed. Damian Marley also said that Hov played the entire “4:44” album for him in the studio and he was very impressed just like the rest of the hip hop community was when the project finally dropped. The two music legends then went to Jamaica to shoot the visuals for the single and Damian Marley detailed how JAY-Z sent a private jet to him in Africa to fly him back to Kingston for the video.

“We did the song out in Los Angeles and then, of course, he wanted visuals to support it,” Gong added. “I was actually in Africa on tour, I was in Ethiopia and he actually sent a plane to come get and fly me straight from Ethiopia to Jamaica, so that was kind of cook. It was a great experience I had fun showing him around we were in Jamaica for two days really showing him around Trench Town, took him to Hellshire Beach and we spent an evening at Tuff Gong Studio in Jamaica so it was cool.”

Damian Marley said the people in Trench Town where his father Bob Marley grew up loved JAY-Z. Junior Gong new album Stony Hill is currently available.

Her newest hit “You Ain’t Mine” is with dancehall great Popcaan and we will be watching this track closely to see how well is does. This marks the second time that the R&B singer is working with the Unruly Boss.

Masicka Agrees Vybz Kartel Is The Bob Marley of Dancehall

Is Vybz Kartel the Bob Marley of dancehall?

Masicka scored one of the biggest hits of his career this year “InfraRed” with Vybz Kartel, but his admiration for the incarcerated dancehall icon runs deeper than just dancehall. In fact, they both went to the same high school Calabar and are both from Portmore. The Genahsyde leader sat down for a candid interview with Tim Westwood recently where he opened up about working with the Worl’Boss.

“Definitely Vybz Kartel is one of the most talented artists out of Jamaica, so it was crazy,” Masicka said. “His work ethics is crazy, Vybz Kartel put in a lot of work and he is one of the greatest artists out of Jamaica, so to even get that track you understand am hail from Calabar and hail from Portmore, Vybz Kartel show we a lot of respect.” Tim Westwood then added that Kartel is the Bob Marley of dancehall, to which he agreed.

Masicka also spoke briefly about his ongoing feud with Aidonia, telling Westwood that the 4thGenna deejay is afraid of a lyrical confrontation with him. “It’s just bad mind because we as the young youths come up and we are doing a lot so it’s not everybody going to show us love,” the dancehall deejay said. “They are just afraid to get into a lyrical confrontation.”

G Herbo – 4 Minutes of Hell Part 5 Lyrics

Yall know what the fuck this is
Yall know exactly what this is

My lil cousin in the county fighting quadruple bodies
But when he beat it, we in Egypt, need a newer hobby
He beat his robbery, went back faster than a Maserati
Everybody in the race, I’m tryna cop Bugatti’s
Lost my ?? a year, but ain’t nobody rob me
We’ll come shoot up the party, ain’t no Lodi Dodi
I got niggas calling my phone from the federales
Told me niggas breaking bad, ain’t sent him 20 dollars
I remember breaking bread with like 20 heads
Imagine me behind the walls for like 20 years
Feeling like I’m dead, I couldn’t even make my bed
I ain’t have no spread
Project still 10 toes bitch and only got 1 leg
Niggas only had 1 life to live, never got no bread
Can’t think back on his decisions now he ain’t got no head
Niggas don’t really be clapping that lead
Yeah, really be scared
My niggas gon’ hop out killing instead
Make sure you cover them dreads
You in the streets better cover your tracks
You can’t talk to that hoe when you going to bed
Wonder how you end up shot in the back
Same way she was for you, that hoe going again
Next thing you know that hoe going again
Yeah gone with the wind
Bitches don’t know when I’m calling again
Next week I’m all in her friends
.40 Glock all in my drawers again
To walk through the mall again
I made 50 songs, had to ball again
Bitch go leak em all again
I’m making songs like Future, I got a future
And I be up with the roosters
Fuck niggas really be losers, really be using
Thats why I’m dolo as usual
And that’s why I tote my own pole with the shooters
I can’t be in this shit snoozing
If a nigga ain’t shooting he ducking or running
And I can’t be in this shit choosing
I remember I used to just play with a 100
Then graduated to 2’s
I remember I used to just bag up them onions
Then graduated to moving
And really my life is a movie
Real diamonds and gold in my jewerly
If you think you gon’ make it, nigga come take it
It do not matter, got Uzi’s
Told my Jeweler to make it, 80 point bracelet
Now ain’t no wonder she naked
Told lil bro to get closer to knock off his face
Cuz we don’t get niggas mistaken

Yeah we fry niggas like bacon
We find niggas like Taken
I’m from 0-7-9
I’m dropping 5’s
And I’m still slamming the rake’s
Still grippin four nickels and S 550’s
This what ima slide on the jakes in
They can’t catch me cuz them squad cars basic
Me and foenem up in our cars racing
Ain’t no pulling over, so we in hot cars daily
And we ain’t instagraming shit, ain’t no haha Davis
I got the gun with the light and the laser
I live my life and the light is amazing
I used to lean on a lot of the lazy
I would just lay back literally lettin her lick me
She did it long like my lady
I think her name was Lindsey, Lala, Lisa, Laura
I’ll get with her later
But I know I’m gon get this to this paper
Yeah I gotta get to the guap
If I don’t ima get on a caper
Soon as I used to get on the block
Police tryna give a nigga the vapor
Why they thinkin I’m gettin niggas knocked off
I’m somewhere way out here in Jamaica
Now I’m gettin a nigga knocked right off the map
Cuz my paper major
Everyday of my life I talk to Cap
He said don’t go to no major
So I ain’t go to no major
Still get major paper
Ain’t got no events, we hit a 100 bands
I been fucking hoes that had another man
See 2 50’s on the weekend, that was running in
We still counting rolls, traveling for shows
30 in bulk, 20 and 30 a show
Ain’t’ fucking no dirty hoes
No I ain’t broke no more
My mama don’t live in the hood no more
I ain’t in the hood no more
I barely pop out in the hood no more
And the henny ain’t worth it no more
Nah I ain’t working no more
I ain’t tryna blow 30s no more
You can’t see me in person no more
I ain’t just Lil Herbie no more
Yeah, I ain’t just Lil Herbie no more
A lot of shit ain’t worth it no more
Can’t see me in person no more
Nah I ain’t working no more
Them lil disses ain’t working no more
You lil niggas ain’t worth it no more

G Herbo, back on my old shit man
You know I’m still on some new shit
You know I’m bossed up, embracing all my power
But I’m back on my old shit man, I don’t give a fuck
Bout none of that shit niggas talkin’ bout
We still on gangsta shit, we still seeing niggas
In public, in the club, smacking the shit out niggas
Hittin’ niggas with bottles, pistol-whipping niggas
All that gangsta shit, with all this ice on
All these VV’s on, Rollies on, all that nigga

Still dropping 4 Minutes Of Hell on you fuck niggas
