“New Freezer” Rich The Kid and Kendrick Lamar Drops Some Fire In New Video

This winter will be chilling. Rich The Kid and Kendrick Lamar drop some fire in their new video “New Freezer.”

In the Dave Free-directed cut, Rich The Kid shows off some dance moves as well as some ice cold jewelry fitting for the title of the single. He then rolls around the city in a car that is more fitting to be a space craft with neon lights and lots of cool gadgets. “Ooh, money way (money) / Diamonds, flexin’ (bling, woo) / I woke up rich, spend a grip on a necklace (yuh) / I put the plug on three way (plug) / Maserati go speed race (yeah),” Rich raps.

Kendrick Lamar came through racking a Kobe Bryant basketball jersey while driving a classic car. “Cocaine white, body look like Gentiles (Gentiles) / Rule of the day, get a view every day / Get a b**ch with a tan by the pool every day / Get a clip with a plan, give a jewel every day / I never sleep, I gotta eat, I gotta dance,” K-Dot raps. The scene with the abandoned pay phone in the middle of nowhere will grab your attention. The two rappers eventually met up at a Chinese restaurant where the Compton emcee raps with his takeout and chopsticks in hand.

Kendrick Lamar has been having a busy year and that worth ethics equates to having arguably the best rap album so far this year, DAMN. Rich The Kid has been also having a busy year with his Rich Forever 3 mixtape getting a lot of attention.

Nicki Minaj Wants More Respect and Kendrick Lamar Agrees With Her

Nicki Minaj wants more respect on her name and Kendrick Lamar seems to agree with her.

Nicki says that male hip hop fans should put some respect on her name just like they do her male counterparts. For the last few weeks. the Young Money rapper has been complaining bitterly about not getting the same respect as the male rappers in the industry even after creating a vast catalog and an impressive resume in music and fashion over the past decade. Today (October 25), she went on Twitter to offload some things off her chest.

In her first tweet, Nicki Minaj thanks Russ for heaping praises on her on Wednesday during an interview with Rap Radar’s Elliot Wilson and B. Dot. During a preview of the upcoming interview, Russ said what several other industry personalities have been echoing, that Nicki has not been getting the credit that she deserves. Minaj thanked him for the gesture and then went on to vent about getting the most hate from the male fans in the industry and even some of her male counterparts.

Related: Nicki Minaj Talks Male Counterpart: “I got to prove myself a hundred times”

“This was so nice of you my love, thank you,” she wrote. “In any field, women must work TWICE as hard to even get HALF the respect her male counterparts get. When does this stop?” She went on to elaborate that the great rappers in the industry have all collaborated with other great MCs of her era like Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and J. Cole, three rappers who are often mentioned in discussions about the top five rappers of this generation. “The greats collaborated w/Drake, Kendrick & Jcole b/c they’re dope MC’s. They collab’d w/nicki cuz someone pulled a gun to their heads,” she added.

In another tweet that seems to be a shot at new rappers like Cardi B, Nicki Minaj she shouldn’t even be placed in the same sentence as these new MCs after being an OG for 10 years consistently putting out hit records. “Putting ppl in the same sentence as me after my 10 years of consistent winning. What are you teaching THEM? They’d never do this to a man,” she wrote.

She went and dug up an old tweet from Kendrick Lamar from 2010 where the Compton rapper said more males hate Nick than females. “Just realized. Moe ni**az hate nicki minaj than woman do. #yallniggazisreallypausewhenithinkaboutit,” K-Dot wrote.

Nicki Minaj Talks Male Counterpart: “I got to prove myself a hundred times”

Nicki Minaj covers T Magazine’s Great Issue and she made some interesting revelations in her cover story.

Despite all the chatters about the female hip hop scene currently, Nicki Minaj is still very much the leading female artist in the genre, a title she earned herself with her hard work and dedication over the years. In her interview with Time, the Young Money rapper spoke in depth about her career including her upcoming album and her vast catalog.

“I kind of love that I’ve had to go through so many hurdles to get where I am because I feel like I deserve it,” she said. “I had so much going against me in the beginning: being black, being a woman, being a female rapper. No matter how many times I get on a track with everyone’s favorite M.C. and hold my own, the culture never seems to want to give me my props as an M.C., as a lyricist, as a writer. I got to prove myself a hundred times, whereas the guys that came in around the same time as I did, they were given the titles so much quicker without anybody second-guessing.”

Nicki Minaj and Drake broke onto the rap scene at the same time in 2009 when Lil Wayne signed both of them to Young Money/Cash Money. Other rappers like Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole broke onto the scene after the two Young Money titans and all three male emcees, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and J. Cole are often mentioned in the discussion about the top five rappers of this generation. Nicki Minaj, on the other hand, is often seen as just a regular rapper doing her thing, despite for years being the only female out there putting in the work.

“I believe in my gift wholeheartedly,” Minaj said. “Sometimes I wake up and say, ‘I don’t know if I can do this anymore,’ you know? I’ve had those times. I’ve had those years where I’m just like, ‘Am I good enough?’” But then she wholeheartedly believe that she was meant to withstand what regular girls can’t.

Nicki Minaj is currently working on her new album but still hasn’t given any concrete details like release date and title. Nevertheless, she said its the most free she has ever been since her mixtape days to make the music that she wants to make.

Diddy & Drake Are Hip-Hop’s Highest Earners Over Last Year

Diddy and Drake made a lot of money over the last year, more than $220 million combined and are undoubtedly the Hip-Hop Cash Kings.

The two rap titans are by far the highest earners in hip hop this past year, according to Forbes magazine. Sean “P. Diddy” Combs made a whopping $130 million, Drake made $94 million, JAY-Z made for himself $42 million, Dr. Dre raked in $34.5 million, and Chance the Rapper made $32 million who round out the top five. So you can see Diddy is leading the pack by far and is one step closer to being hip hop’s first billionaire with a current net worth of over $800 million.

Diddy is undeniably the Hip-Hop Cash King of the last decade and this year he added a lot more cash to his pocket thanks to his Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour, his ownership stake in Diageo’s Ciroc vodka, and the sale of a third of his Sean John clothing line. That sale alone raked in $70 million for the hip hop mogul. Drake has had a hugely successful year both on the road and on digital media. He was the most streamed artist on Apple Music over the past year and he also made a lot of money from endorsement deals with Apple, Nike, and Sprite. The bulk of his $94 million was made touring for his Summer Sixteen Tour with Future and his Boy Meets World Tour in Europe.

JAY-Z and Beyonce are the first billionaire couple in hip hop but JAY-Z is pulling the most weight thanks to his $200 million deal with Live Nation and Sprint investing $200 million in TIDAL. Dr. Dre significantly increased his net worth when he and his business partner Jimmy Iovine sold Beats by Dre to Apple. That deal alone earned the rapper/producer a whopping #620 million back in 2014 which is the highest payday for any musician in history. Over the past 12 months, he made $34.5 million from royalties from his vast catalog and ongoing payment from Apple. Chance the Rapper banked a cool $33 million despite being an independent rapper who never sold physical copies of his albums. He distributes his music solely digitally. He also made some big bucks from endorsement deals with Apple and Kit Kat.

Check out the full list.

1. Diddy – $130 million
2. Drake – $94 million

Watch Kendrick Lamar Performs “Loyalty” & “Humble” At 2017 VMAs [Video]

Kendrick Lamar kicked off the 2017 MTV VMAs with a memorable opening performance of “Loyalty” and “Humble.”

Kung-Fu Kenny has been having a great year with the biggest album so far this year DAMN and he is also going into tonight’s MTV Video Music Awards with eight nominations. The Compton rapper kicks things off with “Loyalty” clad in a orange prison suit with fire back stage. There was also a man literally on fire while doing some martial arts moves while Kendrick Lamar spit the lyrics for the single.

Kendrick Lamar then performed his mega hit “HUMBLE” as the crowd went wild. This is perhaps one of the best performance we’ve seen from K-Dot on an award show. He killed it hands down and you could see the stamp of approval from the audience. The rapper is expected to pick up some big awards tonight. Check with Dancehallhiphop.com for more updates.

Kendrick Lamar On Drake “You Can’t Be Greatest Rapper And Use Ghostwriter”

Is this how Kendrick Lamar really feels about Drake alleged use of ghostwriters to pen some of his music.

Let’s be clear about one thing, Drake has in the past did full length interviews where he said he never used a ghostwriter and also said that he properly credit any writer who writes songs for him. Kendrick Lamar has never been shy to share his thoughts on issues in hip hop whether through his music or in interviews and in his recent sit down with Rolling Stone he opened up about the touchy topic of ghostwriters.

The interviewer specifically asked him about using ghostwriters and while he didn’t mention Drake by name, some fans are already concluding that he is talking about the Toronto emcee. “It depends on what arena you’re putting yourself in,” Kendrick Lamar said. “I called myself the best rapper. I cannot call myself the best rapper if I have a ghostwriter. If you’re saying you’re a different type of artist and you don’t really care about the art form of being the best rapper, then so be it. Make great music. But the title, it won’t be there.”

K-Dot also touched on the topic of some rappers making pop songs to gain more commercial success. Again Drake comes to mind since the OVO rapper often make songs that sounds a little less rap and more mainstream. “It gets tricky because you can have that one big record, but you can still have that integrity at the same time,” the Compton rapper said. “Not many can do it … wink-wink [laughs]. Still have them raps going crazy on that album and have a Number One record, wink-wink.”

This doesn’t mean that Kendrick Lamar is trying to ignite a beef with Drake, perhaps he was just being sincere in answering the questions. The “DAMN” rapper even said that there are a bunch of Drake songs that he likes. K-Dot has the top selling album of the year so far after DAMN debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart with 605,000 copies sold in the first week. The project is still doing well on the chart sitting at number two after sixteen weeks on the chart.

Ab-soul – To The Max Lyrics

AB-SOUL
To The Max Lyrics

[Verse 1: Ab-Soul]
I wake up every morning to text messages
From foreigners saying they love me, they miss me
They want me, are you in town?
When are you coming over, are you around?
How’s life treating you? Are you holding it down?
Can you wear my T-shirt? Can you come to my store?
How much for a verse from Kendrick Lamar?
Is Q really from Hoover? Is Rock still signed to Tech N9ne?
And this is just when I rise, imagine my whole day
My momma smiling more than ever, man and it’s so strange
It’s what I asked for though, I can’t complain
I wanna say “I told you so” but that won’t change a thing I’m afraid
I paid my little sister’s rent last month, man, that was great
My grandpa thought I wouldn’t graduate
Now I’m selling out shows and he’s stoked and shows all in his face
I even put my step pops in his place, for questioning my objective in this place
I don’t blame him, I’m just saying, always knew I was the man
I owe nothing to no one, except those who told me I was the one
When lowkey I wasn’t, that was when I was becoming
Now I’m buzzing and everybody my cousin, that’s phony
Y’all don’t know me, where was y’all when I was lonely?
A pack of Black and Milds every twenty four hours
Skipping showers ‘cause I felt dirty, unworthy of power
Though I never cursed the Lord, but I questioned his motives
I still do, except now, I’m exceptionally focused
However the road ends, I’m rolling, say amen
You foes won’t stop me or succeed like I can
I see snakes, the grass must be cut, is it Wednesday?
And I’m happy especially nip it at the bud now
And what is happening exactly? I’m sick of the smoke signals
Like a green cross in a dispensary window
Unit 6 woulda been dope but the industry wouldn’t let it
Creativity don’t tend to mix with business endeavors
Whatever though, you know the anthem is get money and some
Become a legend and leave a legacy for your grandson
I told Lani I’mma do it, and I did it, hope she forgive me when she hear me saying shit like
“G’s up n***a, hoes down, if the bitch can’t swim, then she gon’ drown in it”

[Hook: Ab-Soul]
You know I stay on my humble but these days ain’t f**kin’ with me (ain’t f**kin’ with me)
I go from Carson to Harlem, I hold it down, how couldn’t you see? (how couldn’t you see?)
You know I’m here for the long term, it’s my turn, pull up a seat (seat)
Well if you light up the smoke and throw up your hands and wave with me
Where’s Max B when you need him?
Where’s Max B when you need him?
Pour up your drink and wave with me
Where’s Max B when you need him?
Where’s Max B when you need him?
Where’s Max B when you need him?
This is the new wave now jump in the sea

[Outro: Max B]
Ay yo, y’all n***as stay wavy man, I love y’all man
Keep the wave goin’ I told y’all I was gonna leave y’all with that wave
About 500 out there in the [?] county
Man y’all stay strong, I’m still staying strong, I’m focused
I’m on my way back, prophecy will be fulfilled
It’s wavy for life, don’t forget it I’m still wavy
Out, out

Kendrick Lamar & Rihanna are Bonnie and Clyde In “Loyalty” Video

Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna are gunning for video of the year with their new music video “Loyalty.”

The video for the single off K-Dot’s album DAMN is just what we need this weekend. The two modern day Bonnie and Clyde went on a crime spree in the action pack video directed by Dave Meyers. The 4-minute cut tells a compelling story of crime, romance, loyalty, and trust. The video starts out with Kendrick sitting in a chair blindfolded while some scantily clad females dance for him in a club type of atmosphere.

One of the ladies tried to stab him, but before that could happen the video cut to another scene that shows K-Dot and his friends in the street while some of his homies getting sunk into the asphalt and shark wreck havoc under the surface. Rihanna then chimed in running a scam on a man who ended up in a fight with Kung Fu Kenny, but that proved to be a big mistake. He got knocked out by Kenny much to the amazement of his girl Rihanna.

The breathtaking video also shows some clips of the Los Angeles skyline with Kendrick Lamar and Rihanna on a rooftop pulling off a daring stunt. So far Kendrick has released videos for “ELEMENT,” “HUMBLE,” and “DNA” both of which are also well put together music videos. The Compton rapper is currently making his way across North America with his DAMN Tour. Just this week he brought out J. Cole in Detroit and last night he brought out Chance The Rapper in Chicago.

Kendrick Lamar has the biggest opening week so far this year with his album DAMN selling just over 600,000 copies in the first week alone. The project has since been certified double platinum by the RIAA. Maybe now we can get that joint album with J. Cole.

Kendrick Lamar Celebrates DAMN Going Double Platinum

Kendrick Lamar has a lot to celebrate this week with his tour selling out and his album DAMN being certified double platinum.

The album has the biggest debut week so far this year outside of JAY-Z‘s 4:44 which was certified platinum within the first week. DAMN sold 605,000 copies in the first week and debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Kendrick Lamar posted a photo of his double platinum plaque on Instagram that he got from the Record Industry Association of America, RIAA.

“These murals forever belong to my fans,” Kung Fu Kenny wrote. “You’ve always taken my words above and beyond. Around the world and back again. With trust. I am forever grateful. 2x.” Fourteen weeks after the album release, DAMN is still doing well on the Billboard 200 chart with 56,000 copies sold in the last week. That is more than a lot of artists first week sales. The album sits at number two on the chart behind JAY-Z’s landmark album.

Kendrick Lamar is currently touring North America for his “The DAMN Tour” and he is getting some support from his rap peers including Chance the Rapper and J. Cole who made guest appearances at his shows in Chicago and Detroit this week respectively.

These murals forever belong to my fans. You've always taken my words above and beyond. Around the world and back again. With trust. I am forever grateful. 2x

Watch Kendrick Lamar Bringing Out J. Cole For DAMN Tour In Detroit

J. Cole made a surprise appearance on Kendrick Lamar‘s DAMN Tour stop in Detroit on Wednesday night.

The Compton rapper was performing at Detroit’s Palace of Auburn Hills for another sold out show on his DAMN trek across the U.S. and Canada. Coincidentally, J. Cole performed at the same venue the night before for his “4 Your Eyez Only Tour” and was still in the city so he made a surprise stop to greet Kendrick Lamar’s fans.

In the video clip below you can see J. Cole coming up from below the stage and went straight into his single “Deja Vu” off his latest album 4 Your Eyez Only. With K-Dot on stage with him, the Dreamville emcee ran through a medley of his hits like “No Role Modelz” and “A Tale of 2 Citiez.” This rare joint appearance on the same stage only fuels more speculations about a joint album between the two.

Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole are two of the most respected young rappers in the game right now with solid efforts coming from them over the years. A joint project has been rumored to be in the works for years now, since around 2012. This is the clearest sign yet that that project could come next.

2 Chainz & Kendrick Lamar Gets Roasted Over This Photo

2 Chainz and Kendrick Lamar are both getting roasted by fans for this photo that was posted on Instagram yesterday.

The pic shows both rappers wearing tracksuits and sneakers but it’s not only their attire that they are getting roasted for, it’s also how awkward they are standing. Some fans are question where Kendrick Lamar hand is and is even suggesting that he is digging his a$$. “What the hell is Kendrick doing is he digging his a** ewwww,” one fan wrote.

Some comments even got meaner as you scroll with some fans saying that K-Dot look like an awkward Al Sharpen taking another selfie. “Somebody said he look like al sharpton i’m weak ni**a skip leg day every day,” one fan wrote. Another fan added, “2 Chainz looks like Kendrick’s long lost father.” Check out some more of the comments below.

L2B – Home lyrics

[Hook]
I’m prolly faded when I hit the scene,
Please don’t disturb me while I’m in my zone.
I’m tryna pull up in something you aint never seen,
While riding through my city feeling right at home,
I let ’em know, I hold it down,
Hold it down, hold it down, down, down,
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down,
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down.

[Verse 1]
I’m from New Haven City, I don’t have another home,
I be chillin’ right by Yale, next to Skull and Bones.
Come along with me to see a real artist in his zone,
Alone, in his own mind, trying to write another song,
Hypnotized by the music whenever it comes on,
Hardworking and talented, I kill two birds with one stone,
Making sure my story will never go untold,
Let the drama unfold ’cause my heart has gone cold,
First place reservation, got that spot on hold,
If she can hold a conversation and she’s hot, I’m sold.
Something like Midas, everything I touch turns gold,
I don’t slow down, keep it moving like I’m on the run though.
Got used to ballin’ out, like Rajon Rondo,
Me and the team going all out, tell me where’d the time go?
It aint nothing, got a problem, have it handled pronto,
End your career with one song, you’ll be another John Doe.

[Hook]
I’m prolly faded when I hit the scene,
Please don’t disturb me while I’m in my zone.
I’m tryna pull up in something you aint never seen,
While riding through my city feeling right at home,
I let ’em know, I hold it down,
Hold it down, hold it down, down, down,
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down,
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down.

[Verse 2]
Man, the rap game lacks originality these days,
All these songs sound the same, talking about
Stealing your chick, and being rich,
It’s as if they got nothing else to say,
It’s hard to differentiate these dudes when
They’re all doing their best impression of Drake.
The styles repetitive, I mean how much can we take?
Most of you rappers sound dumb,
There’s not much more I can say.
I’m such a perfectionist with this, I can’t afford a mistake,
So I’m here to inform you that I’m more than a basic artist,
I’m already great.
I’m sick of corny rappers acting like you’re leading the way.
Ya’ll aint leading shit,
Lead the way in the kitchen and make me a PB & J.
They say Kendrick Lamar set the bar for being lyrical huh?
When really he stands out ’cause every other rapper you hear sucks.
Lyrics, I don’t hear much. Talent, I don’t hear enough,
Your music only sounds bearable while I’m wearing ear plugs.
It’s hysterical, my style is incomparable, plus,
I just care way too much to let all you wack rappers “Turn up!”

[Hook]
I’m prolly faded when I hit the scene,
Please don’t disturb me while I’m in my zone.
I’m tryna pull up in something you aint never seen,
While riding through my city feeling right at home,
I let ’em know, I hold it down,
Hold it down, hold it down, down, down,
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down,
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down.
