Ultra announces Phase 1 for 2023 with Swedish House Mafia, Hardwell, Martin Garrix, & more

It’s that time of year again when Ultra Music Festival begins the agonizing full reveal of their festival lineup for the following year, but there’s plenty already to whet your appetite looking ahead to 2023. Phase 1 was just dropped yesterday along with tickets for the event, and you will have a great variety of acts to choose from.

Headliners already seem pretty locked in as Martin Garrix, Hardwell, and Swedish House Mafia are all going to be playing next year. Hardwell was the surprise headliner on Sunday 2022 though Martin Garrix played second to Kygo on the opening night, who himself threw down quite an out-of-character and admittedly astonishing set. And, of course, Swedish House Mafia was the surprise headliner in 2018 as they began their comeback (was that seriously four years ago already…).

Additionally, CloZee, Gigantic NGHTMRE, Ganja White Night, Rezz, Subtronics, and Kayzo (Live) represent the bass side, while mainstays Armin van Buuren and Carl Cox once again grace Phase 1.

Oliver Heldens will be playing double duty at the festival, playing b2b with Tchami for one set and donning his HI-LO alias for a rare b2b with deadmau5’s side project testpilot for another.

Lastly, Phase 1 is rounded out by Claude VonStroke, Grimes, Gryffin, Eric Prydz presents HOLO, Tale of Us, Timmy Trumpet, Vintage Culture, and Zedd.

Check out the full Phase 1 lineup below, and you can purchase your tickets now or test your luck once more of the lineup has been revealed.

Phase 1

Just wake me up in March. Tickets are on sale now! #ULTRA2023

Martin Garrix Drops Tons Of Club Bangers On Debut Album, “Sentio”

For the past few weeks, Martin Garrix has been dropping one club banger after another, all leading to the release of his debut album, Sentio. With his first release a decade past, and having already captured the #1 DJ in the world title three times, a debut album of this proportion is something certainly noteworthy.

It all began about a month ago with the release of “Follow,” a collaboration that Zedd that fans have been wanting for literal years. And it set the tone for the rest of the tracks as Garrix has creating friendly collaborative relationships with tons of artists over the years, many, if not all, of whom appear on this album: Mesto, Brooks, Matisse & Sadko, Julian Jordan, Justin Mylo, Blinders, DubVision, and more.

‘’I was sitting on so much club music, and after the lockdowns, it felt like people wanted to party and get their spirits lifted again,” says Garrix. “The album features some radio-friendly songs, but it’s mostly the more aggressive Garrix club sound. I didn’t want people to have to wait for the high-quality versions after Ultra for too long, which is why we decided to drop them weekly after the set. I’m super excited all the tracks are finally out for everyone to listen to. My first album is a fact!’’

As a whole, the album naturally feels like a return to Garrix’s roots in progressive house, but with enough variety between each track, thanks to the large number of collaborations, that everything sounds unique.

Listen to the whole album below!

Martin Garrix and Brooks release anticipated Ultra ID, “Quantum” [Listen]

After not releasing any club music for the past two years due to the pandemic, Martin Garrix has been premiering one club ID after the other during his live shows over the last couple of weeks. Last week, he announced the release of his first-ever club album, Sentio, which will be out on the 29th of April.

“The crazy thing is I’ve never released a Garrix album. During COVID I made zero club music because it felt weird to make festival music when there were no shows. When the shows came back I had so much new, revived energy that I made tons of new club music. We’ve decided to release a lot of the tracks in the coming weeks and bundle them into a club album. I feel like people have collected new energy the past two years, and I can’t describe how amazing it feels to be back on tour and seeing everyone’s reactions to all the new music.”

Beginning with the incredible Zedd collaboration, “Follow,” he’s since released “Limitless” with Mesto and “Reboot” with Vluarr. Today, he follows it up again with yet another team up with Brooks, “Quantum.”

A reunion everybody has been waiting for: Martin Garrix and Brooks collaborate on Garrix’s second release of the week, “Quantum.” As one of the most requested IDs after his Ultra Music Festival Miami set, “Quantum” quickly became a fan favorite after the first live spins. In true Garrix and Brooks fashion, the track is an outstanding banger with an infectious drop.

Check out the growing Sentio tracklist below!

Martin Garrix & Zedd Go Back To Their Roots On Incredible Collaboration, “Follow”

The long-awaited and highly requested collaboration from Martin Garrix and Zedd has been on the horizon for quite some time, and today it’s finally here — “Follow.”

With a beautiful piano intro that is reminiscent of Zedd’s older chord progressions, the song erupts into a heavily textured, synth-laden refrain before heading straight into the four-on-the-floor drop. Between the chord progression, melody, synth work, and drums, each artist’s identity is perfectly on display with this fantastic collaboration while also making room for singer-songwriter Emily Warren’s sultry vocals halfway through.

Maintaining a close friendship over the last couple of years, the collaboration has been long overdue with Garrix and Zedd talking about doing a song together for nine years. Understandably, the hype around the track started to build massively over the past couple of weeks after serious teasing from both sides. Fans who attended Garrix’s show at Lollapalooza Chile last week were in for a treat, while he premiered the track while FaceTiming Zedd.

As a cherry on top, Garrix will play the track in his Ultra Miami Mainstage set tonight, as the track will surely be a staple track in his sets for the shows to come, while Zedd will treat his audience at Beyond Wonderland with a live spin to celebrate the release.

Your EDM’s Official Ultra Miami 2022 Survival Guide

After two long years off, Ultra Music Festival is finally set to return March 25-27! After relocating in 2019, UMF is returning to its longtime home at Bayfront Park in the heart of downtown Miami. Fans from around the globe will be treated to unforgettable performances from some of the most elite DJ talent in the world including Martin Garrix, DJ Snake, Kygo, Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Carl Cox, Illenium, KSHMR, a yet-to-be revealed secret guest, and so many more.

Whether you’re making the trip to downtown Miami for the tenth time or the first time, there’s a lot of boxes you have to check off before heading to the festival. We’ve got you covered here at Your EDM with this handy dandy Ultra 2022 Survival Guide. We’ll give you all the inside info on the best ways to get to the venue, where to stay in Miami, what to bring with you, tips for how to best enjoy the festival, and how to score some sweet exclusive merch as well. Without further ado here is your Official Survival Guide for UMF 2022.

Getting to the Venue

One of the coolest things about Ultra is its location in the heart of Downtown Miami. No need to take a shuttle or drive an hour to get to the venue, you can either take public transportation or just walk (depending upon where you’re staying). Get your MetroRail pass and you can take the free MetroMover and be dropped off right at the steps of Bayfront Park. Hours will be extended on the Metro to make sure that festival attendees can get home safely. Click here for more info on Miami MetroRail.

If you are staying farther away from Downtown Miami you can always take I-395, but expect delays. If you’re staying in Ft. Lauderdale or West Palm Beach you can hop on the Brightline and it will drop you off at Miami Central Station, a quick walk from Bayside Park. Trains depart hourly and service runs until 1 AM.

You can also be that person and take a water taxi (boat) to Ultra. You’ll dock in nearby Bayside, but Ultra recommends public transportation. Do not take your own personal boat (if you have one) to Ultra!

Where to Stay

Ultra just shared this map of hotels in the area, all provide easy access to the festival by Miami MetroRail. Click here for a list of all the hotels in Miami and its surrounding areas that Ultra has partnered with. No one’s stopping you from booking an Airbnb, but do so at your own risk, an Ultra verified hotel is the best way to go.

What to Wear

Miami is a fashionable place, but for festivals, the best way to go is function over fashion. Miami has warm temperatures with lots of sun, and very high humidity. Wear loose fitting breathable clothing and be prepared to sweat. Wear comfortable sneakers/athletic shoes, you will be dancing all day and walking and on your feet without many breaks, now is not the time to break out large heels or go super casual with flip flops. You’ll want actual shoes. You probably can’t go wrong with bright colors. Dudes, this is your opportunity to rock that Hawaiian shirt.

For those ready to take their fashion to the next level, Ultra has teamed up with iHeartRaves for a very special Ultra Styled collection. These are not everyday fashions, these are designs strictly made to help you look the best and most unique you can at Ultra (or other festivals for that matter.) Order online or pick some merch up at the store that will be onsite at the festival.

What to Bring

Ultra is a festival that wants you to pack light. So long as all you’re bringing are your wallet, keys, sunglasses and some earplugs, a fanny pack is the route to go. If you need to bring more, you will need a clear bag that is no more than 13 x 17. You can also bring hydration packs that are not backpacks, they are Ultra’s recommended way to stay hydrated. Sorry, you can’t bring your hydroflask. Ladies, you can bring a small clutch bag.

Aside from the clear bag policy, one thing that is unique to Ultra is that there are no totems allowed. Do bring your flags and represent where you’re from or which label/artist you’re repping. Just don’t attach it to a pole. Lockers are also available onsite, order in advance to avoid lines at the festival. Click here for more info on Ultra’s bag policies.

How to Have the Best Time

Ultra is a massive festival and is also a great place to check out artists and stages you might not be familiar with. The Ultra mainstage is legendary, but check out the Resistance Stage, catch a set inside the mega structure. The Live Stage will also feature some of the biggest names in dance music including KSHMR, Madeon and Alison Wonderland, they’d be on the main stage at any other festival. The Worldwide stage will be home to Armin van Buuren and A State of Trance on Friday. Other artists to catch there include Jauz b2b NGHTMRE, Seven Lions, Zeds Dead and more. The UMF Radio Stage has also been home to tons of great stage takeovers. Some of the top labels in music will be showcasing talent there as STMPD and Gud Vibrations will be hosting Friday and Saturday respectively. Hardstyle fans rejoice as Dirty Workz will be taking over on Sunday.

Also make sure to download the Ultra Passport app to register your wristband and set your lineup once set times are released. Here’s an official map of Ultra to help you navigate your way around the festival grounds. Explore and step outside of your comfort zone, you might just happen upon a killer set and have a new favorite artist to check out.

How to festival responsibly

If you’ve been to a festival before, you know what to do. If not, it’s common sense; pace yourself, stay hydrated, know your limits, take breaks and rest your body. Leave no trace, it’s one of the things that Ultra is stressing the most. Ultra is doing its part to engage the community and raise awareness about keeping the ecosystem clean. On top of taking care of your litter, Ultra is asking that attendees respect the plant and animal life in and around the festival. Attendees can also take recyclable items to the festival’s EcoVillage for rewards. Find out more about the festival’s sustainability initiative, Mission: Home, here. Officials at Ultra are also aware of the looming Coronavirus threat, read all about the precautions officials are taking here.

Tickets are still available for Ultra Miami here. We’re less than five weeks away from what promises to be one of the biggest and best installments of the festival to date.

Martin Garrix, Matisse & Sadko, and John Martin team up to release highly anticipated ‘Won’t Let You Go’

Just in time for the end of the year, Martin Garrix is back with a treat to kick off the Holiday Season with a bang, releasing his long-awaited collaboration with Matisse & Sadko and John Martin, “Won’t Let You Go.”

Played as the opening track of his first sets after the pandemic, including Electric Love and Creamfields, the track quickly became a fan favorite. Proven to be a golden combination before, Garrix is teaming up with both Matisse & Sadko and John Martin again. Garrix already worked with Matisse & Sadko on classics such as “Together,” “Hold On” and “Forever,” while John Martin joined him on “Higher Ground” and “Now That I’ve Found You.”

Combining the best of all worlds, Garrix and Matisse & Sadko’s production signatures perfectly blend with John Martin’s heartfelt vocals while the lyrics talk about not ever letting go of the one you love the most. The euphoric hook gives “Won’t Let You Go” a massive festival feel which is exactly where it deserves to be played.

Settling down for the Holidays, Garrix is gearing up for a busy 2022 with lots up his sleeves.

Martin Garrix Co-Produced, Mixed, & Mastered New U2 Single ‘Your Song Saved My Life’ from Sing 2 Movie

When Martin Garrix and U2 teamed up for “We Are The People” for the EURO 2020 earlier this year, the experience must have been a good one because the Irish rock band called upon the Dutch producer once again to co-produce, mix, and master their new single “Your Song Saved My Life” from the movie Sing 2.

Super stoked to share that I co-produced, mixed and mastered the new @u2 single ‘Your Song Saved My Life’ for the movie Sing 2. enjoy!! @singmovie

— MARTIN GARRIX (@MartinGarrix) November 5, 2021

The song sounds impeccably crisp and clear, owing to Garrix’s near-decade producing his own hit music. Listen below!

Martin Garrix & Maejor’s AREA21 Debut Album Tracklist Revealed

AREA21, the collaborative project between Martin Garrix and Maejor that began in 2016 with the surprise breakout hit “Spaceship,” is finally gearing up to release its debut album next Friday. Greatest Hits Vol. 1 is… a bit of an oddly titled album, given that it’s composed entirely of newly released singles in 2021 plus six unreleased singles. None of the project’s supposed “greatest hits” like “Spaceship,” “Glad You Came,” or “We Did It” are on the album. But, oh well, I guess?

The album comes out November 12 with twelve tracks including everything they’ve released in 2021, like “Pogo,” “Mona Lisa,” or the most recent single, “Own The Night.” In addition, six other tracks (below) will be featured.

No Angel
All I Need
Time Machine
Going Home

A live AREA21 tour might be on its way, but TBD. For now, join us in waiting for the album due out next week.

Ultra Drops Phase 1 Lineup for 2022 with Illenium, Martin Garrix, Alison Wonderland, DJ Snake, & More

It will have been three years, two events, since the last Ultra Music Festival in Miami.

Ultra was one of, if not the first festival to be hit with a cancellation due to COVID-19. And, being so early in the year, it had no chance of coming back in March 2021 when the vaccine was only just beginning to roll out and safety around coronavirus was still dubious at best. Now, as we look to 2022, the Miami music festival is plotting its grand return and bringing back all the top-tier acts from which it has built a reputation.

The phase 1 lineup was announced this morning, with names like Pendulum, Illenium, Martin Garrix, Alison Wonderland, DJ Snake, Madeon, SVDDEN DEATH presents VOYD, Zeds Dead, and more.

Honestly, it’s a lot more bass music for an Ultra phase 1 reveal than we’re used to, but the variety is there with Carl Cox, Boris Brejcha, Nina Kraviz, Nicky Romero, Kygo, Oliver Tree, Sofi Tukker, and Tale Of Us also getting announced.

As for tickets for 2022, the situation is a bit unclear. Back in April of this year, the festival was sued for withholding ticket refunds. The lawsuit filed in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Miami-Dade County stated:

Ultra engaged in unconscionable, unfair, and/or deceptive trade practices by advertising, offering, and promoting the festival, taking individuals’ money to attend said advertised festival, cancelling the festival, and then failing to provide ticket purchasers with the option of receiving a refund, effectively shifting all risk and costs of Ultra’s decision to cancel the Event to the consumers.

Whether these tickets are still in the buyers possession, or if those buyers will even want to attend 2022 and open those tickets up to the secondary market, or if the festival will release more tickets — these are all questions that at this time remain unanswered.

Take a look at the phase 1 lineup below.

Martin Garrix Drops Heavy New Club Banger “Diamonds” with Julian Jordan & Tinie Tempah

It’s been a while since we’ve had a proper club banger from Martin Garrix, but this newest with Julian Jordan and Tinie Tempah definitely scratches the itch.

“Diamonds” is relentless from the offset, with suspenseful undertones and percussion that constantly feels like it’s getting faster and faster. Coupled with Tempah’s iconic vocals, the pounding bass on the drop is more than enough to get any dancefloor absolutely jumping.

Julian Jordan Plays Out “Final” Version Of New Collab With Martin Garrix & Tinie Tempah [WATCH]

Last week, we reported that Martin Garrix had played out two new unreleased songs at his first festival back, Electric Love in Austria. This past Saturday, Julian Jordan headlined Avalon in Los Angeles, where he played out the “finished” version of his collaboration with Martin and Tinie Tempah.

Compared to literally any of his songs over the past couple of years — “Drown,” “Higher Ground,” “Fire,” “Pressure,” etc. — this is certainly one of the hardest songs that Garrix has produced. And we’re 100% here for it.

So far it’s still untitled, at least publicly, but we’re extremely excited for this one to drop. Check it out below!

Martin Garrix Drops Two Unreleased Songs At His First Festival Back

As festivals return, so too do the artists who make them the experiences that are forever embedded in our memories. Alison Wonderland played her first festival back in the US this past weekend at Beyond Wonderland SoCal, for instance, and Martin Garrix headlined Austria’s Electric Love Boutique Edition festival over the weekend, as well.

The young Dutch artist who’s been voted #1 DJ in the world multiple years running of course came prepared with some new music to show off, starting off his set with an unreleased John Martin collaboration, according to @GarrixInterview on Twitter.

This sort of grand entrance back to festival life from artists was exactly what was expected after such a long break from touring and events, so to see it truly come to fruition is hugely gratifying and very, very exciting. We can’t way to see what other artists bring to the table as they return to events, not to mention releases for these Martin Garrix songs, whenever that may be!

Martin Garrix Teams Up with Bono & The Edge for EURO 2020 Theme “We Are The People” [LISTEN]

Martin Garrix and Bono & The Edge have joined forces to bring the official UEFA EURO 2020 anthem to life — “We Are The People.”

The brand new song and instant global hit spotlights the strengths of all three artists involved. Garrix and his natural ability to create uplifting soundscapes; Bono, with his lyrical and melodic expertise; and U2 bandmate The Edge, with his striking guitar riffs.

It became obvious to Garrix in the early working stages of the production that Bono’s vocals would take “We Are The People” to the next level. The way it all came together truly seems meant to be.

Garrix shares of the collaborative track:

Creating the music for one of the biggest sports events in the world together with Bono and The Edge has been an incredible experience. I’m very proud of what we did together and excited to finally share it with the world!

“We Are The People” hopes to reflect the positivity, hope and determination required for any team to succeed, as well as offer a sense of togetherness which fits the theme of UEFA EURO 2020: Unity. The same concept resonates throughout the music video below, also starring all three artists.

The song hits streaming platforms today, on Martin Garrix’s 25th birthday!

Martin Garrix Confirms Euro 2020 Anthem with Bono & The Edge Out This Month

Martin Garrix has teamed up with Bono & The Edge for the official Euro 2020 theme song.

Just to clarify, David Evans aka the Edge is the lead guitarist, keyboardist, and backing vocalist of Irish rock band U2, alongside lead vocalist and lyricist Bono.

“We Are The People” has reportedly been in the works for over a year. Garrix first made the music before enlisting in Bono & The Edge to transform the track into a proper anthem. The production was delayed due to the pandemic, but Garrix has confirmed it’s coming out next Friday.

“We Are The People We’ve Been Waiting For,” Garrix shares in the post below.

The drop date is set for May 14, well ahead of the UEFA European Football Championship (informally known as the Euros), which kicks off in June. The tournament was put on hold last year and will still be referred to as Euro 2020.

Meanwhile, Garrix and Maejor have their debut album as AREA21 expected this fall. More on that here.

See below and pre-save the Martin Garrix x Bono & The Edge mega collab here.

Tomorrowland to Throw 2nd Installment of ‘Around the World’ Virtual Festival this Summer

Tomorrowland Around the World is happening once again this July, bringing together a virtual audience for a unique online festival experience.

The series debuted last July amid the pandemic, as Tomorrowland’s flagship in-person event was forced to cancel. Around the World was groundbreaking to say the least, marking one of the first major festivals to go digital and winning a prestigious award for digital design and development.

Last year’s event hosted exclusive performances from Katy Perry, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Steve Aoki, Tiësto, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Eric Prydz, Charlotte de Witte, Amelie Lens and many more, which ticketholders could access for a limited amount of time following the live broadcast. The festival also brought back their virtual world for a special NYE stream featuring David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Boys Noize, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Diplo, Major Lazer, Martin Garrix, Snoop Dogg aka DJ Snoopadelic, and more.

Michiel Beers, co-founder of Tomorrowland, previously shared of the concept: “For us it’s a bit re-inventing the festival experience, but we truly believe that we can bring the spirit of Tomorrowland and entertainment at the highest level to people and homes around the globe.”

Tomorrowland is remaining as optimistic as possible for its proposed dates, set for end of August and early September. Beers just revealed to Billboard, “We’re still positive, although we realize we’re in a very complex situation.”

Martin Garrix Pairs Up with Tove Lo for Sultry, Club Ready Track “Pressure” [LISTEN]

Martin Garrix just dropped a club ready slow burner, “Pressure” featuring Tove Lo.

The highly anticipated collaboration explores a deep soundscape set at 115 bpm, sure to turn heads of pop and dance lovers alike. Seductive vocals and an alluring bassline draw us in, as Garrix offers a complimentary groove to Tove Lo’s vocal prowess.

Our only complaint — we’d love an extended mix because our ears are craving more than 2 minutes and 24 seconds. Regardless, we’re loving “Pressure” and its quick, to-the-point escape.

Tove Lo shares of the production:

This track hit me in all the right places and I really wanted to be a part of it. It’s cool that it’s a slightly new direction for both me and Garrix! Lyrically it’s all about destructive passion and lack of self-control. Which feels amazing until it drives you crazy. I’m very excited for this to be our first collab, I hope all our fans feel it!

“Pressure” marks the first 2021 release from both Garrix and Tove Lo.

New Martin Garrix With Tove Lo, “Pressure,” Out Tomorrow

Martin Garrix released two new songs in 2020, “Drown” with Clinton Kane and “Higher Ground” with John Martin. (He also released a couple under his Ytram alias.) It was a bunk year for a lot of people, so it’s not like we’re holding it against him at all, but we’re excited for some new material.

On Tuesday, Garrix announced his first single of 2021 was due out this Friday, teaming up with Tove Lo for “Pressure.”

If the track art is anything to go by, this might be one of Martin’s darker songs in his discography, characterized by a deep red color scheme and a lone woman staring into a mirror with foreboding, glowing red eyes.

Check back tomorrow to hear the full thing!

Pressure with @tovelo will be out this Friday!
